The Giant Pink is a pink form of Spathoglottis plicata, the ground orchid native to tropical Asia and the Pacific. Unlike most orchids it grows in ordinary garden soil, builds up into a clump, and keeps sending up spikes of flowers for much of the year in warm climates. It suits beds, borders and large pots, and pairs well with the red form.
