Taste Profile

Why this is worth trying — even if you think you know mango

Exceptionally Sweet Custard-Soft Texture Almost Fibreless Floral Aroma Ruby-Red Blush

Most people's idea of "mango" is shaped by whatever's cheapest and most available — usually picked hard-green and force-ripened for the shelf. Miyazaki is a different fruit entirely. Its sugar content (Brix) regularly runs higher than common commercial varieties, giving it a sweetness that borders on dessert-like, paired with a soft, almost custard-smooth flesh that has barely any fibre to work around. The skin blushes a deep ruby-red when fully ripe, and the aroma alone — heady, floral, faintly like a ripe peach crossed with mango — tells you this isn't the same fruit you're used to. This is genuinely one of those "try it once and you'll understand the price" fruits.

The Honest Comparison

What chemical farming quietly took away from mango

Most commercial mango in India is picked while still hard and green — weeks before it would naturally ripen — so it survives long transport and storage. To make it look ripe fast, sellers commonly use calcium carbide, a substance banned by the FSSAI for fruit ripening, or synthetic ethylene gas. Fruit force-ripened this way never develops the natural sugars, aroma compounds, and micronutrients that only form while a mango ripens slowly on the tree, in living soil. Heavy pesticide and chemical fertiliser use over years also depletes the soil's own micronutrients — meaning less nutrition even reaches the fruit in the first place, regardless of how it's ripened.

Typical Commercial Mango

  • Picked hard and green, weeks early
  • Often force-ripened with calcium carbide or gas
  • Grown in chemically fertilised, nutrient-depleted soil
  • Sugar and aroma development cut short
  • Warehoused for days to weeks before sale

Our Miyazaki Mango

  • Left on the tree until fully, naturally ripe
  • Zero calcium carbide, zero artificial ripening
  • Grown in living soil — Jeevamrutham, Panchagavya, zero chemicals
  • Full natural sugar, aroma and nutrient development
  • Harvested close to dispatch, not stockpiled
Nutrition

What's actually in a naturally grown mango

Mango is naturally rich in several nutrients that support everyday health — and how it's grown and ripened affects how much of that nutrition actually develops. Here's what this fruit generally offers:

Vitamin C

Supports immune function and natural collagen production, which plays a role in skin elasticity.

Beta-Carotene

A vitamin A precursor that supports eye health and contributes to skin's natural resilience.

Dietary Fibre

Supports healthy digestion and helps contribute to steadier, more gradual energy release.

Polyphenols

Natural plant antioxidants that help the body counter everyday oxidative stress.

Farm Origin

Grown on our own farm, Coimbatore

This fruit is picked from the same Miyazaki mango trees growing on our farm in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. We've been recognized by the India Book of Records for cultivating 38 exotic mango varieties on a single acre using entirely chemical-free methods, and our approach to organic cultivation of imported mango varieties has been featured by Pasumai Vikatan and covered in Kuruthu Manvasanai magazine.

Once It Arrives

How to store and enjoy it

If Fully Ripe

Refrigerate & eat within 2-3 days

For best flavour, chill and enjoy soon after arrival — the fruit is already at its peak.

If Slightly Firm

Rest at room temperature

Leave it out for a day to finish ripening naturally before refrigerating and eating.

To Serve

Peel, halve, and enjoy fresh

The soft, almost fibreless flesh also works beautifully blended into smoothies or simple desserts.

Frequently Asked

What buyers ask before ordering

What does Miyazaki mango taste like?

Exceptionally sweet, soft and nearly fibreless, with a rich floral aroma and a deep ruby-red blush — noticeably different from common mango varieties.

Is this mango ripened with chemicals?

No. It ripens naturally on the tree — we never use calcium carbide or ethylene gas to force-ripen fruit.

What are the health benefits?

Like other mangoes, it's a good source of vitamin C, beta-carotene, fibre and antioxidants — nutrition that develops more fully when fruit ripens naturally rather than being force-ripened.

Why is it so expensive?

Difficult to cultivate, hand-pollinated, low yield per tree, and a short harvest window — all of which make it one of the most expensive mangoes in the world.

How is it packed and shipped?

Hand-picked at peak ripeness, individually cushioned, and shipped pan-India with typical 2-5 day transit.

How should I store it?

Refrigerate and eat within 2-3 days if fully ripe; rest at room temperature a day first if it arrives slightly firm.
